Getting to Lake Como is the hardest part of the trek to Blanca peak, but the hike up to the peak is full of gorgeous lakes, waterfalls, and streams during the summer. Once you hit the ridge, you will be scrambling over big rocks to reach the peak, but it is well worth the effort.

4th tallest peak in Colorado and most difficult of the 14ers I've done so far. It's probably best to hike to Como Lake or Blue lakes and camp before attempting the summit. If done in one day, prepare for A LOT of hiking/walking. And having a high ground clearance and very short wheelbase 4wd will cut down a significant part of the approach hike, but be warned, the road is brutal!!!
